CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: serial: io_ti: fix heap overflow in get_manuf_info()
get_manuf_info() reads le16_to_cpu(rom_desc->Size) bytes from the
device I2C EEPROM into a buffer allocated with kmalloc_obj(), which
is sizeof(struct edge_ti_manuf_descriptor) = 10 bytes.
The Size field comes from the device and is only validated (in
check_i2c_image()) to make sure the descriptor fits within
TI_MAX_I2C_SIZE (16384 bytes), not against the destination buffer size.
A malicious USB device can therefore set Size to any value up to 16377,
causing a heap overflow of up to 16367 bytes when plugged into a host
running this driver.
valid_csum() is called after read_rom() and also iterates
buffer[0..Size-1], compounding the out-of-bounds access.
Fix by rejecting descriptors with unexpected length before calling
read_rom().
[ johan: amend commit message; also check for short descriptors ] |
| A buffer overflow in the gf_media_import function (/media_tools/av_parsers.c) of GPAC Project/MP4Box before 26.02.0 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via supplying a crafted input. |
| Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability in RTI Connext Micro (Core Libraries) allows Overread Buffers.This issue affects Connext Micro: from 4.0.0 before 4.3.0, from 2.4.5 before 2.4.*. |
| Versions of the package jsrsasign before 11.1.1 are vulnerable to Infinite loop via the bnModInverse function in ext/jsbn2.js when the BigInteger.modInverse implementation receives zero or negative inputs, allowing an attacker to hang the process permanently by supplying such crafted values (e.g., modInverse(0, m) or modInverse(-1, m)). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
thunderbolt: Bound root directory content to block size
__tb_property_parse_dir() does not check that content_offset +
content_len fits within block_len for the root directory case.
When rootdir->length equals or exceeds block_len - 2, the entry
loop reads past the allocated property block.
Add a bounds check after computing content_offset and content_len
to reject directories whose content extends past the block. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Clamp HDMI HDCP2 rx_id_list read to buffer size
[Why & How]
During HDCP 2.x repeater authentication over HDMI, the driver reads the
sink's RxStatus register and extracts a 10-bit message size field (max
value 1023). This value is used as the read length for the ReceiverID
list without being clamped to the size of the destination buffer
rx_id_list[177]. A malicious HDMI repeater could advertise a message
size larger than the buffer, causing an out-of-bounds write during the
I2C read.
Clamp the read length in mod_hdcp_read_rx_id_list() to the size of the
rx_id_list buffer, matching the approach already used in the DP branch.

| GIMP HDR File Parsing Heap-based Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of GIMP. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of HDR files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-28266. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdkfd: Fix buffer overflow in SDMA queue checkpoint/restore on GFX11
The v11 MQD manager incorrectly assigned the CP-compute variants of
checkpoint_mqd/restore_mqd for KFD_MQD_TYPE_SDMA queues. These functions
use sizeof(struct v11_compute_mqd) (2048 bytes) instead of sizeof(struct
v11_sdma_mqd) (512 bytes), causing a 1536-byte overflow.
During CRIU checkpoint of an SDMA queue on Navi3x:
- checkpoint_mqd() reads 2048 bytes from a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer,
leaking 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory to userspace
During CRIU restore:
- restore_mqd() writes 2048 bytes into a 512-byte SDMA MQD buffer,
corrupting 1536 bytes of adjacent GTT memory (often the ring buffer
or neighboring MQDs)
This is a copy-paste regression unique to v11. All other ASIC backends
(cik, vi, v9, v10, v12) correctly use the SDMA-specific variants.
Add checkpoint_mqd_sdma() and restore_mqd_sdma() functions that properly
handle the smaller v11_sdma_mqd structure, matching the pattern used in
other MQD managers.

| ImageMagick before 7.1.2-19 contains an out-of-bounds access vulnerability in ConnectedComponentsImage() when processing connected-components artifacts with invalid indices. Attackers can trigger access violations by specifying malformed connected-components definitions via CLI, causing denial of service or potential code execution. |
| If NSD is configured as secondary for a zone, the primary of that zone can crash NSD with an AXFR containing a DNS message with a special crafted SVCB RR with an rdata size of 65512, that let's an (uint16_t) variable that is used to allocate space needed for the RR wrap (because total size > 65535), causing a heap overflow. The attacker can perform a controlled (RCE class) head write of up to 65509 bytes |
| NSD version 4.14.0 introduced a bug where a specially crafted APL RR, with an adflength larger than permitted for the address family will overwrite the stack when the zone is written to disk, with a maximum of 111 attacker controlled bytes. |
| Out of bounds read and write in Blink>InterestGroups in Google Chrome prior to 149.0.7827.197 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) |
| Insufficient validation of untrusted input in Navigation in Google Chrome prior to 149.0.7827.197 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to bypass site isolation via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ima_fs: Correctly create securityfs files for unsupported hash algos
ima_tpm_chip->allocated_banks[i].crypto_id is initialized to
HASH_ALGO__LAST if the TPM algorithm is not supported. However there
are places relying on the algorithm to be valid because it is accessed
by hash_algo_name[].
On 6.12.40 I observe the following read out-of-bounds in hash_algo_name:

Seems like the TPM chip supports sha3_256, which isn't yet in
tpm_algorithms:
tpm tpm0: TPM with unsupported bank algorithm 0x0027
That's TPM_ALG_SHA3_256 == 0x0027 from "Trusted Platform Module 2.0
Library Part 2: Structures", page 51 [1].
See also the related U-Boot algorithms update [2].
Thus solve the problem by creating a file name with "_tpm_alg_<ID>"
postfix if the crypto algorithm isn't initialized.
This is how it looks on the test machine (patch ported to v6.12 release):

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Bound MIDI endpoint descriptor scans
snd_usbmidi_get_ms_info() validates the internal MIDIStreaming endpoint
descriptor size before using baAssocJackID[], but the descriptor walker can
still return a class-specific endpoint descriptor whose bLength exceeds the
remaining bytes in the endpoint-extra scan.
That leaves later flexible-array reads bounded by bLength, but not by the
remaining bytes in the endpoint-extra scan.
Stop walking when bLength is zero or
extends past the remaining endpoint-extra scan. |
| InHand Networks IR912 V1.0.0.r20042 and IR915 V1.0.0.r20042 (including earlier versions) were discovered to contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the device registration function. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service attack on the remote target device. |
| Tenda AC7 v15.03.06.44 contains a stack buffer overflow vulnerability in the /goform/AdvSetMacMtuWan interface via the cloneType parameter. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow was found in dnsmasq. When DNSSEC validation and
query logging are both enabled, logging of DS or DNSKEY replies containing
unsupported algorithm or digest types can cause dnsmasq to write past the end
of an internal logging buffer. A remote attacker able to supply such a DNS
response may crash the dnsmasq process, resulting in denial of service. |
| OpenColorIO is a color management framework for visual effects and animation. Prior to version 2.5.2, `FileFormatSpi3D.cpp:163` uses `sscanf` with `%s` into 64-byte stack buffers when parsing LUT data lines. Input comes from `lineBuffer[4096]`, so a crafted .spi3d file can overflow by ~4000 bytes on non-Windows. Version 2.5.2 fixes the issue. |
| concurrent-ruby is a modern concurrency tools for Ruby. Prior to 1.3.7, Concurrent::ReentrantReadWriteLock can incorrectly grant a write lock after one thread acquires the read lock 32,768 times. The lock stores a thread's local read and write hold counts in one integer. The low 15 bits are used for the read hold count, and bit 15 is used as WRITE_LOCK_HELD. After 32,768 reentrant read acquisitions, the local read count crosses into the write-lock bit. try_write_lock then treats the thread as already holding a write lock and returns true without setting the global RUNNING_WRITER bit. This breaks the core mutual-exclusion guarantee: the caller is told it has a write lock, but other threads can still hold or acquire read locks at the same time. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.3.7. |
