CVSS v3.1 |
| util-linux is a random collection of Linux utilities. In util-linux 2.39.1 through 2.41.4 and 2.42 through 2.42.1, the SUID `mount` utility reads the attacker-controlled `LIBMOUNT_FORCE_MOUNT2` environment variable with `getenv()`, allowing a local low-privileged
user to force the non-atomic legacy bind-mount path. With an `/etc/fstab` bind mount authorized by `user` or `users` and protected by `nosuid`, `noexec`, or `nodev`, an attacker can race the window between the initial bind mount and the remount that applies those security flags and execute a SUID program from the temporarily unprotected mount, potentially gaining root privileges. This issue is fixed in 2.41.5 and 2.42.2. |
| A flaw has been found in Yungengxin Yun Jia Security Guard up to 2.7.1.9. Impacted is the function sub_14000885C in the library kgameprotect.sys. Executing a manipulation of the argument Pid can lead to improper privilege management. The attack requires local access. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| A vulnerability has been found in yangzongzhuan RuoYi up to 4.8.3. This affects the function checkRoleAllowed of the file /system/role/authDataScope. Such manipulation of the argument roleKey leads to improper privilege management. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| The WholesaleX – B2B & Wholesale Plugin for WooCommerce with Wholesale Prices plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Limited Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.8 via the 'process_registration' due to missing validation on the 'wholesalex_registration_role' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to register as any existing WholesaleX role. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 2.3.8. |
| Rapyd Admin from 9.0.0 before 9.20.0 contains an improper privilege management vulnerability in the UsersEdit Livewire component that allows users with the edit users permission to assign themselves the admin role. Attackers holding roles such as the shipped operator role can submit the admin role ID for their own account, lifting tenant scoping, bypassing per-record authorization, and enabling impersonation. |
| Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 41.10.6, 42.9.2, 43.4.1, and 44.0.0-beta.5, an Electron <webview> guest could enable nodeIntegrationInWorker for its Web Workers even when the unsandboxed embedder had Node.js integration disabled, allowing untrusted guest content to create a Node-enabled worker with more privilege than the embedder granted. Applications that do not enable the <webview> tag or that keep the embedder sandboxed are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 41.10.6, 42.9.2, 43.4.1, and 44.0.0-beta.5. |
| The User Rights Access Manager WordPress plugin through 1.1.3 does not restrict access to one of its AJAX account-registration handlers and assigns newly registered accounts a role that was created as a copy of the administrator role, allowing unauthenticated attackers to register an administrator-equivalent account and take over the site. |
| The Bit integrations – Form Integration, Webhook, Spreadsheets, CRM, LMS & Email Automation plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation via Log Re-execution in all versions up to, and including, 2.10.6 The vulnerability exists because `IntegrationHandler::executeWithCapture()` stores raw, attacker-controlled field values — including `user_pass` and `user_email` — verbatim into `wp_btcbi_log.field_data` on anonymous front-end requests with no capability check, and `LogHandler::reexecute()` feeds that stored payload back through `Flow::execute()` inside the replaying administrator's session without validating the identity that originally produced the data, causing `RegistrationController::updateUser()` to resolve the target user ID to the administrator and write the attacker-supplied password via `wp_update_user()`. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the administrator's password and fully take over the administrator account. Exploitation requires that an administrator has configured a flow mapping a user-supplied form field to the `user_pass` parameter of the WP User Registration "Update User" action, and that the administrator subsequently clicks "Re-execute" on the failure log row produced by the anonymous submission from the plugin's log screen. |
| Grav grav-plugin-api before 1.0.36 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability that allows delegated user managers to obtain super-admin access by storing positive scalar admin or api parent grants. Attackers with api.users.write can edit account access maps or invitations so the inheriting permission resolver satisfies requireSuper checks, accessing super-only API endpoints. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ptrace: slightly saner 'get_dumpable()' logic
The 'dumpability' of a task is fundamentally about the memory image of
the task - the concept comes from whether it can core dump or not - and
makes no sense when you don't have an associated mm.
And almost all users do in fact use it only for the case where the task
has a mm pointer.
But we have one odd special case: ptrace_may_access() uses 'dumpable' to
check various other things entirely independently of the MM (typically
explicitly using flags like PTRACE_MODE_READ_FSCREDS). Including for
threads that no longer have a VM (and maybe never did, like most kernel
threads).
It's not what this flag was designed for, but it is what it is.
The ptrace code does check that the uid/gid matches, so you do have to
be uid-0 to see kernel thread details, but this means that the
traditional "drop capabilities" model doesn't make any difference for
this all.
Make it all make a *bit* more sense by saying that if you don't have a
MM pointer, we'll use a cached "last dumpability" flag if the thread
ever had a MM (it will be zero for kernel threads since it is never
set), and require a proper CAP_SYS_PTRACE capability to override. |
| IBM i 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6 could allow a local attacker to modify the BOOTP table due to improper authorization. |
| systemd before 247 does not adequately block local privilege escalation for some Sudo configurations, e.g., plausible sudoers files in which the "systemctl status" command may be executed. Specifically, systemd does not set LESSSECURE to 1, and thus other programs may be launched from the less program. This presents a substantial security risk when running systemctl from Sudo, because less executes as root when the terminal size is too small to show the complete systemctl output. |
| Privilege escalation in the WebExtensions component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158 and Thunderbird 158. |
| Privilege escalation in the Application Update component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5. |
| Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 contain an authorization logic vulnerability in the AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) integration framework allows remote authenticated users to gain root-equivalent chassis access controls. By returning specific, crafted Vendor-Specific Attributes (VSAs) or directory claims from an external identity provider (such as RADIUS, LDAP, TACACS+, or Federated IDP), an account can bypass administrative role restriction checks during session establishment. |
| Frappe ERPNext before 15.111.0 and 16.x before 16.22.0 contains a privilege escalation vulnerability in a record-creation endpoint that takes the record type from the request and inserts the record with permission checks disabled. Any authenticated user, including one holding no operational role, can supply a privileged record type to create privileged accounts and take full control of the site. |
| In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.3, 10.2.7, 10.0.10, and 9.4.15 on Linux, a local user who can run commands as the user account running Splunk Enterprise could cause an affected Linux package upgrade to run attacker-controlled operating-system commands with root privileges. The vulnerability is possible because the Linux package maintainer script trusts existing Splunk Enterprise installation content when it performs upgrade operations with root privileges. The vulnerability requires an affected Linux package upgrade to occur after the local user modifies the installation. The local user should not be able to elevate privileges at will. |
| Progress MarkLogic Server 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7 allow a remote attacker with delegated database-administrator privileges to perform backup or restore operations on forests outside the authorized database scope, which could result in unauthorized access to or modification of security-critical data. |
| Progress MarkLogic Server 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7 allow a remote attacker with query-execution access to invoke an XQuery evaluation function without the additional required evaluation privilege, which could result in server-side code execution with elevated permissions. |
| Progress MarkLogic Server 12.x releases before 12.1.0 and 11.x releases before 11.3.7 can evaluate user-controlled values supplied to certain higher-order XQuery functions in an elevated security context, which could result in privilege escalation beyond the attacker's granted permissions. |
