CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
RDMA/umad: Reject negative data_len in ib_umad_write
ib_umad_write computes data_len from user-controlled count and the
MAD header sizes. With a mismatched user MAD header size and RMPP
header length, data_len can become negative and reach ib_create_send_mad().
This can make the padding calculation exceed the segment size and trigger
an out-of-bounds memset in alloc_send_rmpp_list().
Add an explicit check to reject negative data_len before creating the
send buffer.

vsock/virtio: fix potential underflow in virtio_transport_get_credit()
The credit calculation in virtio_transport_get_credit() uses unsigned
arithmetic:
ret = vvs->peer_buf_alloc - (vvs->tx_cnt - vvs->peer_fwd_cnt);
If the peer shrinks its advertised buffer (peer_buf_alloc) while bytes
are in flight, the subtraction can underflow and produce a large
positive value, potentially allowing more data to be queued than the
peer can handle.
Reuse virtio_transport_has_space() which already handles this case and
add a comment to make it clear why we are doing that.
[Stefano: use virtio_transport_has_space() instead of duplicating the code]

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: BUG() in pskb_expand_head() as part of calipso_skbuff_setattr()
There exists a kernel oops caused by a BUG_ON(nhead < 0) at
net/core/skbuff.c:2232 in pskb_expand_head().
This bug is triggered as part of the calipso_skbuff_setattr()
routine when skb_cow() is passed headroom > INT_MAX
(i.e. (int)(skb_headroom(skb) + len_delta) < 0).
The root cause of the bug is due to an implicit integer cast in
__skb_cow(). The check (headroom > skb_headroom(skb)) is meant to ensure
that delta = headroom - skb_headroom(skb) is never negative, otherwise
we will trigger a BUG_ON in pskb_expand_head(). However, if
headroom > INT_MAX and delta <= -NET_SKB_PAD, the check passes, delta
becomes negative, and pskb_expand_head() is passed a negative value for
nhead.
Fix the trigger condition in calipso_skbuff_setattr(). Avoid passing
"negative" headroom sizes to skb_cow() within calipso_skbuff_setattr()
by only using skb_cow() to grow headroom.
PoC:
Using `netlabelctl` tool:
netlabelctl map del default
netlabelctl calipso add pass doi:7
netlabelctl map add default address:0::1/128 protocol:calipso,7
Then run the following PoC:
int fd = socket(AF_INET6, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_UDP);
// setup msghdr
int cmsg_size = 2;
int cmsg_len = 0x60;
struct msghdr msg;
struct sockaddr_in6 dest_addr;
struct cmsghdr * cmsg = (struct cmsghdr *) calloc(1,
sizeof(struct cmsghdr) + cmsg_len);
msg.msg_name = &dest_addr;
msg.msg_namelen = sizeof(dest_addr);
msg.msg_iov = NULL;
msg.msg_iovlen = 0;
msg.msg_control = cmsg;
msg.msg_controllen = cmsg_len;
msg.msg_flags = 0;
// setup sockaddr
dest_addr.sin6_family = AF_INET6;
dest_addr.sin6_port = htons(31337);
dest_addr.sin6_flowinfo = htonl(31337);
dest_addr.sin6_addr = in6addr_loopback;
dest_addr.sin6_scope_id = 31337;
// setup cmsghdr
cmsg->cmsg_len = cmsg_len;
cmsg->cmsg_level = IPPROTO_IPV6;
cmsg->cmsg_type = IPV6_HOPOPTS;
char * hop_hdr = (char *)cmsg + sizeof(struct cmsghdr);
hop_hdr[1] = 0x9; //set hop size - (0x9 + 1) * 8 = 80
sendmsg(fd, &msg, 0); |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iomap: adjust read range correctly for non-block-aligned positions
iomap_adjust_read_range() assumes that the position and length passed in
are block-aligned. This is not always the case however, as shown in the
syzbot generated case for erofs. This causes too many bytes to be
skipped for uptodate blocks, which results in returning the incorrect
position and length to read in. If all the blocks are uptodate, this
underflows length and returns a position beyond the folio.
Fix the calculation to also take into account the block offset when
calculating how many bytes can be skipped for uptodate blocks. |
| A weakness has been identified in MikroTik RouterOS up to 6.40.5/6.44/7.20.8. Impacted is the function same_check of the file ipt_SAME.ko. Executing a manipulation can lead to integer overflow. The attack may be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 7.21.5 and 7.23.1 is recommended to address this issue. You should upgrade the affected component. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. An attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or potentially disclose sensitive memory contents by convincing a user to open or preview a specially crafted Bohemia Interactive (PAA) texture file. Due to an integer overflow when calculating image dimensions during file decompression, the application allocates an undersized memory buffer. Subsequent processing reads memory past the buffer boundary, terminating the plug-in process unexpectedly. |
| A security flaw has been discovered in Tencent ncnn up to 44b02dabdcf97499281a4692ebd65bad73dcf8b6. Affected by this issue is the function ncnn::yuv420sp2rgb of the file src/mat_pixel.cpp of the component Conversion API. The manipulation results in integer overflow. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix overflow of jump offset in constant blinding
bpf_jit_blind_insn() rewrites 'if rX op imm goto off' into:
AX = imm ^ rnd
AX ^= rnd
if rX op AX goto off
and subtracts 2 from off when the jump is backward. off is s16, so
-32767 and -32768 wrap and the jump goes 32767 insns forward, past the
end of the prog. The jump is inside the patch, hence bpf_adj_branches()
doesn't check it. The kernel crashes when such prog runs with
bpf_jit_harden=2.
Return -ERANGE in such case. bpf_jit_blind_constants() fails the same
way when blinding of other insns moves a jump out of range. |
| libtta through 2.3 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in tta_decoder_init_get_info() that allows attackers to cause a heap buffer overflow on 32-bit builds via unvalidated header fields. Attackers can supply a crafted .tta file with a sample rate of 1 and large samples value, wrapping the seek table allocation and crashing applications. |
| JavaCV provides Java interfaces to OpenCV, FFmpeg, and other multimedia libraries. Prior to 1.5.14, IPCameraFrameGrabber doubles a 32-bit buffer capacity without checking for overflow or bounding the parsed Content-Length. An application consumes an MJPEG response from a malicious camera endpoint or a tampered plaintext stream. The source can return an oversized Content-Length header in an MJPEG stream. Successful exploitation can trap the frame-grabbing thread in a permanent CPU-spinning loop and deny service. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.14. |
| A flaw was found in the file-psd plugin in GIMP. When generating a thumbnail preview for a specially crafted PSD (Photoshop Document) image file, an integer overflow occurs during the multiplication of values from an embedded JPEG header. This leads to an undersized heap allocation, resulting in a heap-based buffer overflow when the image data is decoded. This buffer overflow corrupts adjacent heap objects, allowing for a controlled memory write that can result in an application crash or arbitrary code execution. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: fix plen overflow in btintel_pcie_recv_frame()
plen is u16 and computed as HDR_SIZE + dlen. For ACL/ISO frames dlen
is a 16-bit field, so a value >= 0xFFFC wraps the sum, bypassing the
"skb->len < plen" check and letting skb_trim() truncate the packet.
Widen plen to u32 so the addition cannot wrap. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix bpf_sock context code generation
Currently, the ctx access code reads the rx_queue_mapping
field with either a 4-byte or 2-byte load. The rest of the bits
in the register are marked known zero by the verifier. However,
the emitted ctx access code places in the register on certain
the special value (-1) using BPF_MOV_IMM64, which gets sign-extended
to turn on all the bits in the register. By shifting this value right,
the program ends up with a value at runtime above what the verifier
assumes is possible.
Fix this by ensuring the read value is as wide as the assumed size.
Use MOV32 instructions instead of MOV64 instructions to keep
the upper bits zero as assumed by the verifier. Also properly report
the size of the destination variable (the bpf_sock field, 4 bytes) instead
of the source (the socket field, 2 bytes). |
