In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: l2cap: fix null-ptr-deref in l2cap_chan_timeout There is a race condition between l2cap_chan_timeout() and l2cap_chan_del(). When we use l2cap_chan_del() to delete the channel, the chan->conn will be set to null. But the conn could be dereferenced again in the mutex_lock() of l2cap_chan_timeout(). As a result the null pointer dereference bug will happen. The KASAN report triggered by POC is shown below: [ 472.074580] ================================================================== [ 472.075284] BUG: KASAN: null-ptr-deref in mutex_lock+0x68/0xc0 [ 472.075308] Write of size 8 at addr 0000000000000158 by task kworker/0:0/7 [ 472.075308] [ 472.075308] CPU: 0 PID: 7 Comm: kworker/0:0 Not tainted 6.9.0-rc5-00356-g78c0094a146b #36 [ 472.075308] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.14.0-0-g155821a1990b-prebuilt.qemu4 [ 472.075308] Workqueue: events l2cap_chan_timeout [ 472.075308] Call Trace: [ 472.075308] <TASK> [ 472.075308] dump_stack_lvl+0x137/0x1a0 [ 472.075308] print_report+0x101/0x250 [ 472.075308] ? __virt_addr_valid+0x77/0x160 [ 472.075308] ? mutex_lock+0x68/0xc0 [ 472.075308] kasan_report+0x139/0x170 [ 472.075308] ? mutex_lock+0x68/0xc0 [ 472.075308] kasan_check_range+0x2c3/0x2e0 [ 472.075308] mutex_lock+0x68/0xc0 [ 472.075308] l2cap_chan_timeout+0x181/0x300 [ 472.075308] process_one_work+0x5d2/0xe00 [ 472.075308] worker_thread+0xe1d/0x1660 [ 472.075308] ? pr_cont_work+0x5e0/0x5e0 [ 472.075308] kthread+0x2b7/0x350 [ 472.075308] ? pr_cont_work+0x5e0/0x5e0 [ 472.075308] ? kthread_blkcg+0xd0/0xd0 [ 472.075308] ret_from_fork+0x4d/0x80 [ 472.075308] ? kthread_blkcg+0xd0/0xd0 [ 472.075308] ret_from_fork_asm+0x11/0x20 [ 472.075308] </TASK> [ 472.075308] ================================================================== [ 472.094860] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint [ 472.096136] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000158 [ 472.096136] #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode [ 472.096136] #PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page [ 472.096136] PGD 0 P4D 0 [ 472.096136] Oops: 0002 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN NOPTI [ 472.096136] CPU: 0 PID: 7 Comm: kworker/0:0 Tainted: G B 6.9.0-rc5-00356-g78c0094a146b #36 [ 472.096136] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.14.0-0-g155821a1990b-prebuilt.qemu4 [ 472.096136] Workqueue: events l2cap_chan_timeout [ 472.096136] RIP: 0010:mutex_lock+0x88/0xc0 [ 472.096136] Code: be 08 00 00 00 e8 f8 23 1f fd 4c 89 f7 be 08 00 00 00 e8 eb 23 1f fd 42 80 3c 23 00 74 08 48 88 [ 472.096136] RSP: 0018:ffff88800744fc78 EFLAGS: 00000246 [ 472.096136] RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: 1ffff11000e89f8f RCX: ffffffff8457c865 [ 472.096136] RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000000000000008 RDI: ffff88800744fc78 [ 472.096136] RBP: 0000000000000158 R08: ffff88800744fc7f R09: 1ffff11000e89f8f [ 472.096136] R10: dffffc0000000000 R11: ffffed1000e89f90 R12: dffffc0000000000 [ 472.096136] R13: 0000000000000158 R14: ffff88800744fc78 R15: ffff888007405a00 [ 472.096136] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff88806d200000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 472.096136] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 472.096136] CR2: 0000000000000158 CR3: 000000000da32000 CR4: 00000000000006f0 [ 472.096136] Call Trace: [ 472.096136] <TASK> [ 472.096136] ? __die_body+0x8d/0xe0 [ 472.096136] ? page_fault_oops+0x6b8/0x9a0 [ 472.096136] ? kernelmode_fixup_or_oops+0x20c/0x2a0 [ 472.096136] ? do_user_addr_fault+0x1027/0x1340 [ 472.096136] ? _printk+0x7a/0xa0 [ 472.096136] ? mutex_lock+0x68/0xc0 [ 472.096136] ? add_taint+0x42/0xd0 [ 472.096136] ? exc_page_fault+0x6a/0x1b0 [ 472.096136] ? asm_exc_page_fault+0x26/0x30 [ 472.096136] ? mutex_lock+0x75/0xc0 [ 472.096136] ? mutex_lock+0x88/0xc0 [ 472.096136] ? mutex_lock+0x75/0xc0 [ 472.096136] l2cap_chan_timeo ---truncated---

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: bnx2fc: Remove spin_lock_bh while releasing resources after upload The session resources are used by FW and driver when session is offloaded, once session is uploaded these resources are not used. The lock is not required as these fields won't be used any longer. The offload and upload calls are sequential, hence lock is not required. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-throttle: Set BIO_THROTTLED when bio has been throttled 1.In current process, all bio will set the BIO_THROTTLED flag after __blk_throtl_bio(). 2.If bio needs to be throttled, it will start the timer and stop submit bio directly. Bio will submit in blk_throtl_dispatch_work_fn() when the timer expires.But in the current process, if bio is throttled. The BIO_THROTTLED will be set to bio after timer start. CVE-2024-36927 2 Linux, Redhat 3 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Eus 2026-01-19 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv4: Fix uninit-value access in __ip_make_skb() KMSAN reported uninit-value access in __ip_make_skb() [1]. __ip_make_skb() tests HDRINCL to know if the skb has icmphdr. However, HDRINCL can cause a race condition. If calling setsockopt(2) with IP_HDRINCL changes HDRINCL while __ip_make_skb() is running, the function will access icmphdr in the skb even if it is not included. This causes the issue reported by KMSAN. Check FLOWI_FLAG_KNOWN_NH on fl4->flowi4_flags instead of testing HDRINCL on the socket. Also, fl4->fl4_icmp_type and fl4->fl4_icmp_code are not initialized. These are union in struct flowi4 and are implicitly initialized by flowi4_init_output(), but we should not rely on specific union layout. Initialize these explicitly in raw_sendmsg(). CVE-2024-50191 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: don't set SB_RDONLY after filesystem errors When the filesystem is mounted with errors=remount-ro, we were setting SB_RDONLY flag to stop all filesystem modifications. We knew this misses proper locking (sb->s_umount) and does not go through proper filesystem remount procedure but it has been the way this worked since early ext2 days and it was good enough for catastrophic situation damage mitigation. Recently, syzbot has found a way (see link) to trigger warnings in filesystem freezing because the code got confused by SB_RDONLY changing under its hands. Since these days we set EXT4_FLAGS_SHUTDOWN on the superblock which is enough to stop all filesystem modifications, modifying SB_RDONLY shouldn't be needed. So stop doing that.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915/bios: Tolerate devdata==NULL in intel_bios_encoder_supports_dp_dual_mode() If we have no VBT, or the VBT didn't declare the encoder in question, we won't have the 'devdata' for the encoder. Instead of oopsing just bail early. We won't be able to tell whether the port is DP++ or not, but so be it. (cherry picked from commit 26410896206342c8a80d2b027923e9ee7d33b733)

CVE-2023-52476 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/lbr: Filter vsyscall addresses We found that a panic can occur when a vsyscall is made while LBR sampling is active. If the vsyscall is interrupted (NMI) for perf sampling, this call sequence can occur (most recent at top): __insn_get_emulate_prefix() insn_get_emulate_prefix() insn_get_prefixes() insn_get_opcode() decode_branch_type() get_branch_type() intel_pmu_lbr_filter() intel_pmu_handle_irq() perf_event_nmi_handler() Within __insn_get_emulate_prefix() at frame 0, a macro is called: peek_nbyte_next(insn_byte_t, insn, i) Within this macro, this dereference occurs: (insn)->next_byte Inspecting registers at this point, the value of the next_byte field is the address of the vsyscall made, for example the location of the vsyscall version of gettimeofday() at 0xffffffffff600000. The access to an address in the vsyscall region will trigger an oops due to an unhandled page fault. To fix the bug, filtering for vsyscalls can be done when determining the branch type. This patch will return a "none" branch if a kernel address if found to lie in the vsyscall region.
CVE-2024-57898 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: clear link ID from bitmap during link delete after clean up Currently, during link deletion, the link ID is first removed from the valid_links bitmap before performing any clean-up operations. However, some functions require the link ID to remain in the valid_links bitmap. One such example is cfg80211_cac_event(). The flow is - nl80211_remove_link() cfg80211_remove_link() ieee80211_del_intf_link() ieee80211_vif_set_links() ieee80211_vif_update_links() ieee80211_link_stop() cfg80211_cac_event() cfg80211_cac_event() requires link ID to be present but it is cleared already in cfg80211_remove_link(). Ultimately, WARN_ON() is hit. Therefore, clear the link ID from the bitmap only after completing the link clean-up.
CVE-2024-57809 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI: imx6: Fix suspend/resume support on i.MX6QDL The suspend/resume functionality is currently broken on the i.MX6QDL platform, as documented in the NXP errata (ERR005723): https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/errata/IMX6DQCE.pdf This patch addresses the issue by sharing most of the suspend/resume sequences used by other i.MX devices, while avoiding modifications to critical registers that disrupt the PCIe functionality. It targets the same problem as the following downstream commit: https://github.com/nxp-imx/linux-imx/commit/4e92355e1f79d225ea842511fcfd42b343b32995 Unlike the downstream commit, this patch also resets the connected PCIe device if possible. Without this reset, certain drivers, such as ath10k or iwlwifi, will crash on resume. The device reset is also done by the driver on other i.MX platforms, making this patch consistent with existing practices. Upon resuming, the kernel will hang and display an error. Here's an example of the error encountered with the ath10k driver: ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: Unable to change power state from D3hot to D0, device inaccessible Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x1406) at 0x0106f944 Without this patch, suspend/resume will fail on i.MX6QDL devices if a PCIe device is connected. CVE-2024-56616 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/dp_mst: Fix MST sideband message body length check Fix the MST sideband message body length check, which must be at least 1 byte accounting for the message body CRC (aka message data CRC) at the end of the message. This fixes a case where an MST branch device returns a header with a correct header CRC (indicating a correctly received body length), with the body length being incorrectly set to 0. This will later lead to a memory corruption in drm_dp_sideband_append_payload() and the following errors in dmesg: UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in drivers/gpu/drm/display/drm_dp_mst_topology.c:786:25 index -1 is out of range for type 'u8 [48]' Call Trace: drm_dp_sideband_append_payload+0x33d/0x350 [drm_display_helper] drm_dp_get_one_sb_msg+0x3ce/0x5f0 [drm_display_helper] drm_dp_mst_hpd_irq_handle_event+0xc8/0x1580 [drm_display_helper] memcpy: detected field-spanning write (size 18446744073709551615) of single field "&msg->msg[msg->curlen]" at drivers/gpu/drm/display/drm_dp_mst_topology.c:791 (size 256) Call Trace: drm_dp_sideband_append_payload+0x324/0x350 [drm_display_helper] drm_dp_get_one_sb_msg+0x3ce/0x5f0 [drm_display_helper] drm_dp_mst_hpd_irq_handle_event+0xc8/0x1580 [drm_display_helper]
CVE-2024-56605 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: do not leave dangling sk pointer on error in l2cap_sock_create() bt_sock_alloc() allocates the sk object and attaches it to the provided sock object. On error l2cap_sock_alloc() frees the sk object, but the dangling pointer is still attached to the sock object, which may create use-after-free in other code.
CVE-2024-56604 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-01-05 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: avoid leaving dangling sk pointer in rfcomm_sock_alloc() bt_sock_alloc() attaches allocated sk object to the provided sock object. If rfcomm_dlc_alloc() fails, we release the sk object, but leave the dangling pointer in the sock object, which may cause use-after-free. Fix this by swapping calls to bt_sock_alloc() and rfcomm_dlc_alloc().
